About the Right On Climb
Right On is an ultra-classic rock climbing route that tackles one of the biggest expanses of stone in Joshua Tree National Park- the first summit of Saddle Rocks. A 5-pitch rock climbing adventure on slabs, steep hand cracks, chimneys and jugs will take you up 450 feet of rock climbing to an epic rock summit! The views from atop this summit are astounding! A 2-pitch rappel takes us back to the dirt where we encounter some scrambling and steep hiking down to our packs at the base of the route.
This is generally a full day climb for two guests. Single guest groups might finish early, in which case we can add another, smaller summit!
450' of Rock Climbing, Rappelling
Right On is located on Saddle Rocks, which is the largest rock formation in Joshua Tree National Park. From almost anywhere in the park, Saddle Rocks is visible and beckons to every rock climber! This fantastic rock climbing route is the longest continuous climb in the park. Although Right On is graded 5.5 in the guidebooks (what a joke!), expect solid 5.7/5.8 climbing on the first 3 pitches.
