500' of Rock Climbing with a Mountain Summit!
Mrs. Butterworth is an amazing, full day adventure rock climbing objective! One of the longest climbs in Joshua Tree National Park, Mrs. Butterworth is a Stone Adventures signature climb. No one else knows of this rock climbing route, so you'll have the entire cliff to yourself!
About the Climb
After a short, 10-minute walk through a little-traveled area of Joshua Tree National Park, you will rope up at about 4300' elevation. Mrs. Butterworth climbs a large buttress of rock, weaving around gendarmes and pinnacles until you reach the rock summit. After that, continue hiking and scrambling through a different ecological zone to the mountain summit at approximately 5000' elevation. This mountain has no hiking trails and no name, so you will be one of the few people to ever reach this summit!
This is generally a full day climb.
